About the Dragon Rig

The Veyrath Dragon Rig is a professional-grade Maya rig built specifically for animators who want a powerful, flexible dragon setup for cinematic creature work, real-time projects, and high-quality portfolio animation.

Developed around dedicated flight and ground animation systems, Veyrath gives animators detailed control over the body, wings, head, face, jaw, tongue, and overall performance of the creature. The rig is designed to handle everything from heavy grounded movement and subtle character acting to large aerial sequences, gliding, banking, and more dynamic flight animation.

Veyrath also includes advanced visual controls that allow you to customize the dragon directly inside Maya. Animators can adjust skin hue, saturation and value, shift eye coloration, and create different looks without rebuilding materials. A dedicated energy pulse system runs through the chest, neck, and head, allowing you to animate the build-up of internal energy for fire-breathing sequences and other effects-driven performances.

The rig is also designed with game-engine-ready workflows in mind and supports the use of pre-animated assets, making it suitable for both traditional animation pipelines and real-time production.
